PHPCI2019: Compassionate Communities in Action

272A0858.jpg

We co-hosted the international PHPCI gathering  in Leura because we are passionate about the sharing of knowledge that drives change in how we support better death, dying and grief.

Some research, challenged us, new practices inspired us and many stories shared from around the world confirmed our purpose, to build community capacity to respond compassionately at end of life.

And we had the honour of presenting our work to the world. We shared our learnings and got a chance to collaboratively bounce off so many other community development professionals.

In the spirit of this collaboration we would like to share some of our team presentations here:

Niki Read: What does it take to keep us connected? A community cultural development project in acute palliative care setting

Holly Rankin-Smith: Symposium: What can be done at a national level to encourage more compassionate communities? Reflections from Australia, Canada and Scotland

Niki Read: Our Compassionate Community, developing networks of care with willing villagers and primary health providers

Jessie Williams: Symposium: Compassionate Workplaces

Please have a read, review and absorb our learnings from our current projects. We’d love to hear your feedback either via email or phone chat!
